Vintage & Stone Necklace

I would think it impossible to find any year where the Fall Fashion Colors don't include some form of Rusty Reds. Autumn when nature turns her life affirming greens into the jewel colors of red, orange and yellow for one last party before she puts her forests and gardens to rest for a winter's sleep. This necklace has a very nice weight to it, so that when you wear it, it offers a strange yet familiar comfort.

The focal beads are natural Red Fire Agate in a coin shape. The smaller teal and rust beads are Red Line Jasper also natural stone in a puffed coin shape. The smaller beads are Vintage German Glass beads, again a coin bead but with a twist and in a glossy Root Beer color making it a great companion to the Fire Agate and the Jasper. The necklace It is hand assembled with a tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver 'S' clasp and is 18" in length.

While stringing these beads they reminded me of a rose vine with tiny pink flowers. I have made quite a few of what I call "tunic length" necklaces but I believe this may be my favorite one so far. Green and pick peaceful yet bright and naturally comfortable. And since the necklace is a rich 43" in length you can also choose to double wrap this strand of beads for a shorter look with a dress or sweater, very easy and versatile.

The primary bead in this 43" tunic length necklace is a vintage two-color pressed glass bead. Olive green translucent glass has been swirled with opaque white then pressed in to a mold to make this smooth slender bead. The small round beads are vintage red and clear rounds another two-color bead which actually appears pink. The third bead is a Khaki color Swarovski crystal and it gracefully connects the other two beads in this unique combination. The ‘S’ clasp is made of tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver.

Western movies were a big deal in our family and I grew up thinking that Montana was where the real cowboys lived. Montana to me…beautiful rich teals and golden bronze browns and deep clay reds, in this necklace I have had the whole enchilada! These Bronzite and Red Line Jasper beads clearly exemplify man’s eternal attraction to natural stone. From dresses to jeans and tee shirts this necklace would be quite a natural companion!

Montana Teal is made with Red Line Jasper puffed coin and Bronzite long rice and round Stone beads. It is hand assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver and is approximately 18" in length. The clasp is an Argentium silver magnetic Dexterity clasp making putting on and taking off the necklace very easy.

Black Fire Agate & Vintage Grey Glass strung on leather cord and it feels great! This necklace is one of those slightly understated pieces that once you put it on you clearly understand it's magic. Its weightiness makes it amazingly comforting to wear.

This necklace is made with 22-25mm Black Fire Agate puffed coin beads, Vintage West German Dark Grey Faceted 12mm glass beads and 10x14mm Black Fire Agate Rondelles. It is hand assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver and 1mm round black leather. The necklace is approximately 17" in length.

Natural Red Fire Agate can range in color from a delicious terracotta red to a gorgeous bright orange with varying inclusions. In this pendant three oval Natural Carnelian marquise beads are captured by hand forming half-round silver wire through a large smooth cut trapezoidal Red-Orange Fire Agate and then forming that same piece of silver into a spiral bail with which to string a chain or cord. This necklace has the Wow Factor for sure.

The pendant is strung on 16" choker length of Metallic Copper leather. As with all natural stones each has its own individual markings and will vary in color. It is hand assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver. The Focal bead is approximately 1.5" in height and the overall pendant is approximately 4" in length. The clasp is Sterling Silver.

This unique hand cut bead looks like coal, but is in fact Black Onyx with a matte finish - not all that common. Because they are hand cut they are all a bit different dimensionally however they are all similar and very primitively impressive. There are two options for the accent bead; a lovely Rose Purple jade or a beautiful Blue Apatite Quartz.

This 'Tunic' length necklace is is approximately 36" of 1.5MM round leather black gloss cord with adjustable knotting. The focal bead is a Matte Black Onyx bead and the accent bead is either an 8mm natural Rose Purple Jade bead or an 8mm natural Blue Apatite Quartz bead. The beads are assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver.

Three West German Vintage beads are the centerpiece for this simplistically designed pendant. The vintage 6-sided cone shaped beads are a beautiful and slightly iridescent blue with black edges.  They are combined in this pendant with natural Black Onyx rondelles. Each pendant is formed by hand from one piece of Argentium Silver into a very uniquely wrapped bail from which it hangs on a black leather cord. If you are looking for something 'different', this is it!

This pendant works well as a short close to the neck piece and also as a very long contemporary tunic friendly necklace. In the Tunic version, the pendant is strung on a 34" length of 2mm round black leather cord with sliding adjustable knots, making it easy to adjust the length. In the 'Choker' version the pendant is strung on a 16" length of 3mm round black leather cord and finished off with a stainless steel bayonet clasp, making it easy to take on and off.
This pendant is hand assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver.
The overall pendant is approximately 3" in length.

A large faceted Black Onyx stone Chandelier bead is an absolutely fabulous focal bead for a tunic length necklace. This necklace is offered in three versions; the 'Black Chandelier Drop with Red Hots' has 2 Cherry Red Glass accent beads, the 'Black Chandelier Drop with Cool Water' has 2 Light Aqua glass accent beads, and the 'Tuxedo Chandelier Drop' is accented by 2 Black Onyx stone 3-sided rice beads and 2 freshwater button pearls. All the beads feel great to the touch!

The Black Onyx Chandelier teardrop assembled is approximately 2" in length. The leather cord is approximately 42" in length and and hangs about 20-21'. It can be finely adjusted in length via the adjusting leather knots in back. All the beads are assembled with tarnish resistant Argentium® Silver.

When I first started stringing this combo together I knew the colors worked well, but I had no idea that they worked this well. Using the Green Aventurine rondelles really sets off the striations in the Striped Jasper square stones giving the whole necklace a rich and tailored look. The Bronzite stones not only work color wise they feel great on your neck. This is a great look for the office and the length works well for wearing a suit jacket too.
